The Word of the Day is Run

Scripture:

“You take over. I’m about to die, my life an offering on God’s altar. This is the only race worth running. I’ve run hard right to the finish, believed all the way. All that’s left now is the shouting—God’s applause! Depend on it, He’s an honest Judge. He’ll do right not only by me, but by everyone eager for His coming.” — 2 Timothy 4:6–8 (MSG)

“Run the race set before you, not for the applause of men, but for the crown that never fades.”

To run means to move quickly toward a goal; it also involves persevering with determination through endurance and purpose.

Life is a spiritual race—a journey of endurance, growth, and trust in God’s plan. Paul’s words remind us that finishing well matters more than how fast we start. He ran his race with unwavering faith, confident that his reward awaited him in God’s presence.

Running the race of faith doesn’t mean we’ll always move swiftly or without pain. It means we keep going, even when the road gets tough. Every season—every challenge, every victory—is part of God’s refining process. When we run with faith, we’re not chasing earthly applause but eternal purpose.

God’s applause at the finish line is worth every mile of perseverance.
