The Word of the Day is Generous

“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” Proverbs 11:25 (MSG)

“Generosity is the overflow of a heart that trusts God more than it fears running out.”

Generous means showing a readiness to give more of something—time, kindness, resources, compassion—than is expected; marked by a spirit of openness, abundance, and self-giving. Proverbs 11:25 teaches us a simple but powerful truth: generosity is not loss—it is gain. When we choose to bless others, God promises to pour blessings back into our lives in ways we could never orchestrate on our own. To live generously is to believe that God is enough; therefore, we can give freely. It means offering encouragement when others hesitate, showing kindness when it’s inconvenient, and extending grace when it’s difficult. Generosity is not about how much we have, but about how willing we are to share what God has entrusted to us. As we give, God strengthens, refreshes, and restores us. Generosity becomes both a seed we plant and a blessing we receive. A generous life reflects God’s heart—giving freely, trusting fully, and blessing others with open hands. As we give, God multiplies grace back into our lives.

Prayer

Loving God, thank You for being endlessly generous with me. Shape my heart to reflect Your giving nature. Help me to bless others with joy and confidence, trusting that You will provide all I need. Teach me to give my time, words, compassion, and resources freely and faithfully. Let my generosity shine as a witness to Your goodness. Amen. Amen and Amen.
