The Word of the Day is Encourage

Foundational Scripture:

“God didn’t set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we’re awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we’re alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:9–11 (MSG)

Encouragement: Love in Action

Encouragement is more than offering kind words—it’s a powerful act of love that breathes courage and hope into others. God calls us to build one another up because He knows that words have the power to heal, strengthen, and restore. When we speak life into someone who is struggling, we remind them that they are not alone and that God’s purpose is still alive in them.

Every time you encourage someone, you become an instrument of grace. Your words might be the reminder someone needs to keep going. Encouragement isn’t complicated—it’s as simple as a text, a prayer, a kind note, or a smile that says, “You matter.” As Paul reminded the Thessalonians, we are to keep encouraging one another so that no one is left behind in faith or hope.

Reflection Questions

1. Who can you encourage today with a word of kindness, prayer, or support?

2. How has encouragement from others helped you grow stronger in your faith?

3. What small, intentional ways can you build encouragement into your daily routine?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my constant encourager and source of hope. Help me to be a vessel of Your love, speaking life and faith into those around me. Give me eyes to see who needs a word of encouragement and the heart to act on it. Let my words and actions reflect Your grace and bring hope to others who may be struggling today.

Amen. Amen and Amen.

Takeaway:

Encouragement is love in motion—when you lift others up, you reflect the heart of God and strengthen the body of Christ. Encourage somebody today! The word of the day is “Encourage”.
